1. Chamomile Tea
2. Read a really boring newspaper article
3. Sex since bed (alone or otherwise)
4. Watch C-SPAN
5. Listen to a soothing C.D. (you can get one at Wal-Mart or Target, ones beside Classical music or celtic music or lulabies or nature sounds or anything you want)
6. Soothing Scents like Chamomile, Lavender, or Vanilla.
7. Listen to my husband's grandmother report to you about her different health problems for two hours.
8. Work out two hours past bed for a half an hour.
9. Get one of those Vicks brand Shower Soothers, and filch a shower before bed.
I usually save a bottle of nyquil around incase that happens to me. But single take the recommended dose if you have a cold or the flu

I have be in your situation, even including duplicate wake-up hour, for 5 years. I've found that eating wishy-washy before going to bed, stopping any variety of work at least 30 min. back going to bed, warm baths and trying to be in motion to bed every day at impossible to tell apart hour help abundantly.Hi, Andy!
I've had insomnia for a LONG time. I've tried everything you can moniker: relaxation therapy; hot baths; a cup of red wine; massage; wearing myself out beside exercise during the day; visualization psychotherapy, and so on. I finally tried hitting myself over the head next to a cast iron skillet to assist me sleep (ok, I'm kidding in the region of that one).
I've been taking Ambien for 4 months, and it's the solely thing that have ever helped me. I hope you can find something short of that that will support you; some people voice a small protein snack is useful.

My dad always falls asleep while watching TV . Maybe that would work for you ?
