So..I finally go to get my lumbar epidural steroid injection done. It did not turn out as I have hoped!?

Four days later I am have continuously worse pain respectively day. Dr. say that it is normal for it to find worse before getting your strength back, but I am starting to get worried. The procedure surrounded by itself was hell-Dr. said she hit a bravery and I screamed...worse anguish I have never feel in my life span. Finally went to the emergency room Tuesday hours of darkness, and they gave me a shot of dilaudid and put me on Percocet along near my Norco 10. They said it would just give somebody a lift a few days to get better. It's the strongest prescription that I have ever taken, and it is still broken on the pain. I've be off from work ever since, as the Dr. said that I hold to stay down in direct for the irritation to heal, which help marginally, but as soon as I get up to even use the restroom I am surrounded by 10-level pain again. Has anyone ever have a problem like this? Or, does anyone hold any advise as to what I should do subsequent?

Boyfriend snores?

My mom had the epidural injections twice. They worked for smaller quantity than a day respectively time. ...and they didn't hit a nerve when she get them!

I think they work for some relations and do next to nought for others. My mom was suppose to seize a third injection which we all agreed be useless since the first two didn't show any promise.

If your pain is duplicate as it was previously the injection, it's probably not going to get better. I'm sorry for you. I know how much hope my mom have in her treatment, and it be definitely disappointing.

My mom's problem be arthritis and swelling around the sciatic nerve. Thankfully we found an alternative treatment that have helped beside her pain immensely.

I preference you luck, and I hope you do get better.

How can I stop chewing my fingers?

Oh man. I have one of those once and I could hardly envisage what it would feel resembling to have that big nozzle touch a nerve...

Anyways, one of the problems next to ESI are that sometimes there is a "dural tear" where on earth they accidently poked a hole in a branch in your put a bet on. If you have headache and/or continuing pain consequently I suggest asking the doctor about a dural crack from the injection. I know you're probably tired of hearing this, but the injections grasp worse before they get hold of better.

Good luck.

governments and health care?

never had an epidural steroid shot but i've have several cortizone steroid shots. every time they said it would help beside the pain but it other made it worse for at least a couple of days. the single time i got any nouns it didn't last more than give or take a few a month (it was supposed to ending at least 6) so very soon i refuse to ever tolerate them come near my foot near a needle again.
if i be you i'd get ahold of the doctor who give you the shot, especially if they hit a nerve, and agree to them know what's going on. no one deserves to be surrounded by that much pain
