I own this problem all the time. If you want to run to sleep & can't, there's several things you can try. You can try taking Tylenol PM or some other sleep aid. These don't work for me, though. For some reason they hype me up. You can try drinking some melt milk. You can always sleep after a full belly. You can try to clear your mind thru meditation. If this is a constant problem, you may want to go and get you some Melatonin. It helps me greatly when I take it on a regular principle. It's a natural non-addicting supplement. Melatonin is produced by your brain & tell us when to sleep & when to stay awake. When you lack contained by Melatonin it causes you to enjoy abnormal sleep pattern. My doctor actually recommended it for me instead of giving me a sleep aid. It is accurate for treating insomnia (either trouble going to sleep or staying asleep). It also has be claimed to prolong life or slow down the aging process, but that have NOT been proven to be true. It's a short time ago a rumor that if so it would be an extra benefit from taking it. It's inexpensive. I got a bottle at my local grocery store for $1. It be on sale, though, so it would probably be more than that somewhere else. You can find it at most places next to the herbal supplements. Local pharmacy's carry it as ably as health stores. Hope you carry some sleep. Good luck~

I'm guessing you're starting institution in the am. If you hold clocks in your room, embezzle them down, turn them down, or block them so you can't tell what time it is. Constantly worrying just about the time with preserve you anxious and will help maintain you awake.
Read a boring book?
Playing ambient sounds while you're laying down can help. Stuff resembling the rain or the deep sounds helps.
Focus on relaxing every muscle and falling asleep.

i have matching exact problem. im starting school again tomorrow and i dont know why but im concerned. so here i a m at 12:00 p.m. on YouQA. i dont know what else you can do to make you drip asleep faster.
