For Dehydration? yes I would have leaved too. I aim, it's not like a sports car accident or a heart attack.
But hospitals are a business and the more you stay the better for them. Sometimes is a mix of greed and suspicion, fear of you dropping late at home and your family hiring and "ambulance chaser lawyer" to sue them fro letting you travel too soon.
But let me convey you a real story: This female was told by her Doctor that she have only few month to live, she stayed at the hospital, be given test after tryout, she was within a state of horror and depression, she even contemplated suicide, after weeks on the hospital she was told it be a mistake and that she could go home very soon....And guess what?...The Hospital didn't forgot to send the "Big Hospital Bills".
Sometimes is better to use adjectives sense, and do what is best for oneself. And in suitcase of doubt to seek for a second and third inference. Never trust a hospital Blindly.

I would go home, but its because I own a family that desires to be cared for not to shave my legs (and they will furnish you a razor and they do own showers in most hospitals)However, in the past leaving you inevitability to know what to do to get yourself rehydrated and preserve hydrated You need to steal care of yourself, physically, emotionally and mentally----

I would stay if thats what the Dr told me to doUsually its best to follow the direction of hospital staff, especially if its doctor's orders. They prefer to distribute you home when you are completely well in connection with your short term stay, instead of sending you home in a mediocre condition for it to just get worse and enjoy to return and repeat the hospital course all over again. Dehydration can be a serious entry. When your dehydrated, you draw from really weak and lots of things can surface.... and unexpectantly. If you were exhausted and your stomach hurt, it would probably be beneficial to you as capably as your family that you have stayed so that you would remain under doctor's/nurse guardianship in suitcase something took a turn for the worst.
I feel you ultimately wanting to get home and shave your legs..... be there done that. I have be in hospital on and rotten my whole enthusiasm and it sucksIf I am not dieing I will go home for a couple of reason when I am sick I like comfort and to sleep surrounded by my own bed and I like to be by my self and you can do neither at the hospital.
And for me I alleviate better when I am calm and go and get the rest that I need and for some rationale at the hospital they like to stir you up at three in the morning to lift your pulse
May be you just required to be at home in comfortable surroundings
