Alcohol and Limes and your bellybuttons?
Someone recently told me that if you put rubbing alcohol on a cotton bubble and put it on your belly button then your frenzy will go down.
That same party also told me that if you put a lime in your belly button it will do something else.
The human being who told me this was a nurse. I've hear this before, but...where on earth did she get this? What's the reasoning down it?
Answer:
This is a scream. I also suspect if you put peanut butter and jelly on you ankles you fever will shift down, not to mention you will get greatly more attention from your dog.
Most of these type of remedies are based on close watch. Once a person put an alcohol soaked gauze within the belly button. Because alcohol is very volatile it evaporated in the blink of an eye, making the person belly button perceive cooler. They then recheck the person's warmth had fall. Therefore they concluded that the alcohol in the belly button cause the persons warmth to go down.
Here is the realness. Our temperature vary constantly based upon diverse factors including environment, illnesses, diversion etc. If you check you temperature every 1/2 hour through the daytime you will find there is relatively a bit of variability. What happen here is someone observed a natural flux in warmth and attributed it to the alcohol on the cotton ball. This be reinforced by the cooling sensation from the alcohol evaporation. But the alcohol did not cause the person's heat to fall.
