Massage treatment for chronic stiffness-- is it worth the money?

My neck, rear legs, and shoulders get really stiff, and I see a chiropractor every few weeks. I be told that it would help if I saw a manipulate therapist, and I've have a couple sessions.

1) Is it worth it to continue next to the massage? It seem that I feel pretty honourable for a couple hours afterwards and then as the light of day progresses and I encounter stressful situations (deadlines, etc), I just grasp stiff all over again. I'm not a disciple of paying $50+ for something so temporary.

2) If I stir, is it better to have a chafe before or after exercising?
