You don't have to dawdle to wash his curls... Just out a cotton ball surrounded by his ear and rub vasaline over it (only on the outside of the cotton... not the whole thing). It will stamp out the water. Typically you avoid dampen for 1-2 weeks depending on what your doctor says. I hold had alike ENT for me (and now my children) for 20 years and this is what he tell me every time... (last Wed. my daughter got tubes again).

there is no need to continue.. the dr should have given you a compassionate of foam ear plugs like the ones that swimmers use.. my youngest son have them put in when he be a yr old and they stayed contained by till he was 2 1/2 yrs matured.. although you're not supposed to get wet in the ears at any time he would not tolerate the ear plugs in so they did occasionaly carry wet but they never get infected that i recall.. you can also use cotton ball dipped in vaseline to block up the ear so hose dont' get within it to.Legs hurting. calves and thighs?
technically, the tubes in his ears will be holy until they fall out and the tympanic membrane closes up.so, near is always a accidental that even in 2-3 years he could still receive water contained by his middle ear as a result of the tubs maintaining their patency...
