I have hypothyroidism, and sometimes I enjoy a lump on my throat. Over the past two days, a big, hard lump have appeared on the underside of my chin. It is very sore; it feel like a bruise. It have gotten bigger and more painful. I know I call for to see a doctor, but I am snowed in and I can't travel anywhere! Any suggestions on what it could be? Should i brave the weather and go to the Doc?

It could be cellulitis....no, not the repugnant legs cellulite...but cellulitis, which is a pocket of infection under the skin, which possibly started as a pimple or ingrown hair. You probably should see a doc for antibiotics, but within the meantime, it should help to put a melt towel on it every couple of hours and apply a topical antibiotic ointment close to Neosporin.
