Very sore, but not prickly foot--stress fracture or soft tissue?


I'm a runner who recently upped her mileage for a partly marathon. One morning, after putting in a shorter run (4 miles) i started have pain surrounded by the left side of my not here foot, mostly in one spot, but radiating from the pinky toe to my ankle. I could meander on it though, and was even competent to get another run contained by a few days later, and it with the sole purpose hurt when I slowed down. So I saw a doc because the pain seem to intensify after my run, he took an xray and didn't see anything, but said to see a podiatrist if the pain hadn't gone away by today and to stop running. I'm still anguished, so I've scheduled the appointment. The item is, I don't have shooting anguish in one spot on my foot when it is touched, and while I am surrounded by pain, and nonspecific discomfort, I can walk in need much of a limp. So can this really be a stress fracture? Wearing shoes that rub against the side of my foot hurt like heck, but I'm wondering if the appointment is worth it.

I had one and the same problem. I upped my mileage training for a half-marathon (5 miles/day) and my foot hurt. Not excruciating, but defenitely not pleasant. I ignored it for 5 months. Just end week I went for any x-ray, and I have broken through both my 1st metatarsal and sesamoid bone that makes up the globe of your foot. Now I am on crutches for 6 weeks and no running for 6 months!!! Sucks huge! Go to the Doc. better safe than sorry.

Is it possible to reopen a 3 week mature incision from the inside if you twist your body satisfactory?..?

Is it worth ruining your foot just to amass a few bucks?

You have an injury. I don't work in orthopedics and I am not a complicated core runner like you...but I can explain to that your body is telling you something.

Either you attain the answer now, or you keep on, let it bring worse and find out later. You probably will enjoy to change something. Run smaller amount, get special shoes, alleviate for a while. If you wait, you may have need of surgery or have to administer up running forever.

LISTEN to your body. You know that something is wrong. Now just ask the professionals how to fix it.
