I chewed my nail my entire life and stopped something like two months ago. Just like any other desperate habit, you won't stop unless you really want to. I didn't stop myself from putting my hand in my mouth once within awhile, but never chewed the nail past its sell-by date. I started painting them when they be still ridiculously short, but it kept me from biting. I am good just about sticking with keeping the pin polish looking nice so that I am less expected to chew them. They say that it take 30 days to break the cycle. keep them painted. I finally have to submit to getting acrylics every couple of weeks, and that did help me to not be soo impossible at it when I dont have them.I did find that when I dont enjoy fake nail, to keep them painted in the region of every other day help me to keep from biting them, because they started to attain long, and I was competent to file them other and I didnt have crumbling cuticles...
28 days will stop the habit... you can other get the obnoxious tasting pin polish made to stop biting... I havent seen it around lately, but I bet they hold it at walmart or target or something. I just havent looked for it.
Ohhh it help too to keep a rock-hard as nails clear polish on top, because it make your nails harder to bite anyway.

Well...they deal in stuff behind the counter at Wal Mart..that stuff that have a bitter taste..and is for nail-biting. You only have to walk up to the pharmacy counter and request it.My other suggestions are, sit on your hands when called for or tuck them between your legs; carry around lotion next to you...a good one and it might nouns weird okay, but this stuff really does work...is Dr. Scholl's Foot Cream, it's within a purple tube-it heals dry cracked skin, and it will alleviate your cuticles right up in no time, thicken your nail and in two weeks they will hold grown. It smooths out your hands...doesn't smell polite, so you won't like putting your finger's in your mouth lol...reapply it after wash your hands, or whenever you quality an 'urge.'
I bite my nails sometimes too..I come from a family unit of nail-biters! My mom stopped when she was 30+my dad STILL does it. I find that sometimes I still do...I don't know if you believe in Astrology..but Gemini's hold this nervous obsession usually of nail biting-they of late always enjoy to be doing something with their hand! Keep them short to start beside because it takes time to consent to them be strong again..after biting nails for a long time they become brittle. Try not to compensate too much attention to them. I know alot of people will probably utter to paint them etc...but that just scheme you are going to pay too much attention to them...and you already do that!
