Why are my veins so marked all of a sudden?

This is a difficult to answer. If this be pure mechanical aching like a sprain/strain afterwards the pain would be upon some form of exertion. Like it getting sore after walking, or going up stairs that sort of article. But your question say that your pain starts after your knees is at rest and right after it hurts enough to exact a limp. This does not nouns like powered pain, so I estimate it warrants looking into so a pathology can be ruled out. Pain next to rest is not good, I would turn and see an ortho and if an MRI is ordered do it.
