Anyone have experience near a detached retina?

I got a black eye from getting hit beside a tennis ball 4 days ago. When the swelling go down I realized that I could hardly see out of the eye. Now I find out that I have a detached retina and want surgery. This sucks... anyone have experience beside this?

This can take place in extreme warmness so if you are wearing contact lenses keep away from fires, furnaces, hot stoves, heaters, hot steam, saunas, steam rooms, hot kitchens and don't look at a hot sun. Also don't enjoy hot showers whilst wearing your contact lenses.

Wearing glasses is a course to avoid this contact lens hazard or difficulty.
