*Anyone Know Any Cures For JellyFish Stings?

So, I was at the shoreline when I accidently swam into a nest of jellyfish. They stung me on my legs which, later turned into red, swollen, welt. I heard in the order of peeing but I thought that was merely a myth. Will I risk infection if I don't treat them? If anyone has any righteous cures please answer to this. Thank you.

you wont get an infection, but if you are anguished get some meat tenderizer. It's contained by the spices section at any grocery store. Get some of the powder contained by your hand and mix it near some water to gross it pasty. Then rub it all over your stings. It will form the stinging stop almost immediately.

Jellyfish Sting Treatment, Remedy, & Cure
When stung by a jellyfish, first aid may be in sequence. Though most jellyfish stings are not deadly, other stings, such as those perpetrate by the box jellyfish (Chironex fleckeri) — the most venomous marine creature and possibly the most venomous of any creature on floor — may be fatal. Serious stings may impose anaphylaxis and eventual paralyzation, and hence people stung by jellyfish must bring out of the water to avoid drowning. In these serious cases, advanced professional attention to detail must be sought. This care may include direction of an antivenin and other supportive care such as required to treat the symptoms of anaphylactic shock.

There are three goal of first aid for uncomplicated jellyfish stings: prevent injury to rescuers, inactivate the nematocysts, and remove any tentacles stuck on the patient. To prevent injury to rescuers, screen clothing should be worn. This protection may include anything from panty hose to wet suits to full-body sting-proof suits. Inactivating the nematocysts, or stinging cell, prevents further injection of venom into the lenient. Five percent acetic acid solution (white vinegar) is the preferred method, although meat tenderizer, or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) will neutralize any nematocysts that own not yet discharged into the skin. Meat tenderizer should not be moved out on the skin for more than 15 minutes, and none of these substances should be used in the eyes. In the case of stings on or around the eyes, the solution may be placed on a towel and dab around the eyes, but not in them. Salt river may also be used in overnight case any of these compounds are not readily available, but fresh wet should never be used. Rinsing the sting site with fresh sea, rubbing the wound, or using alcohol, spirits, ammonia, or urine will encourage the release of toxin.

Once deactivated, the stinging cells must be removed. This can be capable by picking off tentacles departed on the body. First aid providers should be careful to use gloves or another to hand barrier device to prevent personal injury, and to follow standard all-inclusive precautions. The "peeing" thing is apparently a myth. I believe it come from Seinfeld. But many stings can be treated near ammonia, which is in urine, so perchance that's where that comes from. But that meat-tenderizer impression sounds good. A little chance, but if it works...

For the past couple weeks it's be a real problem here contained by GA. What they've been describing people to do is when you first find stung, rub the area near sand and salt hose for about a minute to comfort remove the stinger. Afterward, use VINEGAR to help neutralize it...followed by a mild steroid cream if reddishness and welts remain. Also, you can transport Motrin or Tylenol to help next to the pain and swelling. the only item peeing does is take away the sting. you could risk infection if you dont hold them treated. if the swelling has gone down a bit, later i wouldnt worry roughly it. just embezzle 2 or 3 ibuprofen to help decrease the swelling, and if it doesnt go down, you stipulation to see the doctor

About the just thing you can do for a jelly fish sting is cool river, maybe some benidryl and don't pee on it. that's a myth. Jelly fish stings are alot close to bee stings. You can take a credit card and grind it downward, to remove the little stingers, soak in cool water. Mom other had us use baking soda stick, we all get stung ALOT while surfing. You can also find a product at the pharmacy called Sting improve, or something to that effect. That helps too. If you hold any difficulty breathing or feel your mouth or tongue swelling,seek medical attention right away.
