How to prevent and treat ankle joint dull pain at home?


I know that I should be on glucosamine for my joints(mainly my shoulders) and I think it may own the same motivation as the pain within my ankles.

Sometimes when I walk like mad, run, or hike I gain a dull pain surrounded by my left ankle, right below the appendage of the fibula(the bump on the outside of your ankle). Often times, it comes with a grinding response in the nouns.

Basically I know what it most likely is, and cannot afford professional treatment or even glucosamine tablets at the moment.(Anything smaller quantity than $30-40 for a 1-month supply doesnt really work)

What I want to know is what I can do at home with a small budget to treat or prevent this?

(Was thinking ankle brace and/or arch support pad in shoes, but want other option, and opinions on these)
