Oxycodone is the generic or chemical first name of Oxycontin and Percocet. Percocet is not time released, Oxycontin is. Oxycodone can be either time released (generic Oxycontin) or not (generic Percocet). If it say Oxycodone ER, that is generic Oxycontin and it is time released (ER medium Extended Release). If it just say Oxycodone HcL with no ER next it's regular Oxycodone and is not time released.
