Hi, i have this extreme involuntary gag reflex when my dentist tried to take a dental x shaft of light...?

The xray was unsuccessful as i gag too profusely. I tried asking a few doctors, and all said its pyschological. the gaging problem come about a few yrs put a bet on and now, I cant even brush my teeth minus gagging resembling mad. A pharmacist said it could be some stomach tang thing as I have a severe bout of gastric flu a few yrs back. does anyone here suffers duplicate problem? and waht is the disgnosis? (That is, if any doctor even attempted to take you seriously)

I actually have this happen to me. I'd never have a bad gag reflex and the sooner or later - blam! Lasted for about a year (it go away on it's own about a year or so later). It wasn't so discouraging brushing my teeth as I could control all that, but at the dentist it be horrible. I talked to him just about it and he gave me a prescription for Valium (or something similar to it) to take right until that time my appointment to relax me, which is the key to the gag reflex. It worked.

And don't verbs - what you're experiencing is actually relatively normal. Lots of inhabitants have gag problems with something is stuck in their mouth.
