Answer:
I am nearly 51 and have spent 3/4 of my existence without medical coverage.
Being an LPN does not automatically insure medical coverage, but it does abet as I can talk to doctors and find samples if I have need of to.
The medical coverage offered to medical personnel is not cheap and rarely covers what I call for. I cannot afford to get coverage on my own as the premiums are nearly 1/4 of my web pay a month.
I own not researched national coverage, so I cannot compare it with private.
But if waiting for an appointment is one of the problems, afterwards private insurance is just as discouraging; getting medicines remunerated by insurance is nearly impossible due to the constant changes surrounded by policies and what is actually approved. Doctors necessitate to do many test, but insurance will not cover if they find the tests are "medically unnecessary".
Case within point, one client needed a needle biopsy of breast tissue to rule out cancer.
It is the most minuscule invasive procedure with obedient results. Her insurance refused to rate for the test, but be willing to pay cheque for a more expensive test involving surgery room expenses, specialists, and other non essential things. Then refuse to pay for the procedure due to "not essential medical expense" due to the needle biopsy would own produced the same results.
The client lost her coverage as she fought the findings. The doctor did not return with paid; the hospital did not take paid. The client have breast cancer and now cannot obtain insurance.
I have no health prescription coverage for awhile - it be not pretty !
