Feel screw from surgery through skin?

i had acl reform several months ago
i thought it was a short time ago a swollen place, but i realized it is the screw around my patella.
is it unusual to know how to see it poke up a little and to be capable of feel it?
also is it commonplace for a screw to be directly under an incision mutilation?

It happen. It's one of the reasons screw and plates are a bad perception. I realize in that picky location there is little other choice, but if at hand is a choice, don't let the doctor use screw. Use a cast.
