Even the most mild ankle sprain take 4-6 weeks to truly heal. Normally you start to grain real worthy at about 2-3 wks but the ligament is not completely heal at that point. You need to protect the ankle contained by the next 4-6 wks any with an ankle brace or cartridge to allow the ligament to heal. It is noteworthy to note that after therapeutic you should not rely on tape or a brace b/c that one and only makes your ankle muscles weaker and next you are more prone to sprain the ankle with purely walking around.
