What is cause my stomach pains?

Occasionally I suffer from stomach pains high within my stomach which also seems to radiate out through my spinal column on the right hand side. The niggle is sharp and crampy and can last hours. usually occur at night if I snack on pickled onions or cheese. The dull pain is always soaring up under my breast bone.
