Ankle Sprain?
I got an ankle sprain today while playing basketball. It's relatively bad. I come home and put ice for an hour after I applied "Deep Heat" cream and tied a bandage. Is in that anything more I can do? I am also confused because half the populace told me to relax it while others told me to walk normal(IT HURTS).

You should grant it a rest now and next (when it doesn't hurt much) start walking to make it alleviate faster. truth is as always between. you should rime it for the first day or two, to stop blood inside, why weighty heat cream? you should apply it after 2 days, not ahead of time. First cold and rest while the process inside is still going on, then warmness and walking (carefully and with a bandage) to stop the consequences of the process.
no you should elevate it and don't hold the ace bandage on too long or it will cut past its sell-by date your circulation. when you walk it is is trying to report you "pain... achieve off me"
Get someone to pick you up some gelatin. What I connote by that is resembling in the vitamin aisle. Take two in the morning and two at lunch. It will abet your ankle. It did wonders for my hip that hurt for 2 years! I strained my wrist this last weekend, took some gelatin, and it be better by Wednesday.
I've be dancing since I be two and have frequent Ankle sprains. I've also been trained by red crosss. You should first but rime on it then switch to steam. You definatly shouldn't walk. I would stay i bed.Try to elavate it.
If it hurts dont walk on it...at most minuscule not for the next 2-3 days. Allow the ligament to treat without have too much stress placed on it. If it continues to hurt a lot over the subsequent 2-3 days then you should see a doctor to own it looked and have an x-ray taken. Continue next to the ice until the swelling is gone.

don't hike!! (i've been near myself) the best thing to do is rest it for roughly a week, or until it feels heal. If the pain hasn't gone away contained by about 2 weeks max. you should consider visit the doctor. Trust me, if you don't take some time bad and let it make well, your ankle may never be as strong as it was and you'll probably enjoy to go to physical psychiatric help. One of the biggest mistakes you made, be icing it for an hour... that is a big no-no... you want to put the rime on for 10 minutes, take it bad for 10 minutes, then put it put money on on for 10 minutes, ect.
You also might want to try having crutches and staying bad of it, for a few days, then walking next to the crutches (it's called partial freight bearing) then try to lose the crutches completly.
Ankle sprains transport a long time to heal... sometimes even longer afterwards broken bones. My doctor told me i would have be better off breaking my ankle.
After you are competent to walk on it, acquire a brace to wear while doing activities such as running, jump, and general moving around!
