Hi DJJD-You utter your Dad feels not at your best from the "prescription" meds he gets from his doctor. Did his doctor only put him on pills immediately upon finding out he have high blood BP and cholesterol? And if your Dad is a smoker, he should have be told to quit like yesterday. Also, your Dad should've be given a "recommended excercise routine that The DR approves of".?...Well, there are so heaps things that can be tried BEFORE (trust me, once doc's get a BP/Cholesterol forgiving on pills, they are for life, approaching luggage, and the side effects can really make one consistency very poorly, close to YOUR Dad did) There is a fruit juice i.e. sold in most voluminous grocery stores (Tesco, Asda, etc.) that is AWESOME for these two malady, it is: "Pomenegrate Juice"-My fiancee' has glorious BP and high cholesterol and we own managed to hold him from NOT having to embezzle pills; and we have come VERY close to almost have to a few times. BTW, the Pomegrenate juice "usually" comes next to one other added healthy liquid, like "acai berries" (taste similar to blueberries) and "raspberry", or it can be bought straight with simply the pomegrenate juice. He also take "Ginko Biloba" 3 times a week and drinks the actimel bacterial drinks (they come usually in 6 packs, and are severely, very small bottles., close to the same amount of a atmosphere sized shot glass) Also, it sounds gross, and I'm glad I don't have to drink it: It's Soya milk and he alternates respectively week from Soya milk to Rice milk (Actimel) and he swears it tastes obedient. We take a 5-10 mt. pace every night after dinner, and on weekends we embezzle our son out-i.e. to the park, for soccer practice, we help out the RSPCA and are volunteer "dog-walkers", etc. My biggest suggestion is to try as plentiful avenues as you can to keep your Dad from have to stay on pills, because he'll be on them for life.
