A cast is never used to treat a broken collarbone, a sling is worn for 2-3 weeks...it take about 12 weeks for it to alleviate completely.

There is nothing you can do for a broken collar bone. The doctor is certainly right.Since your 3 year old is so childlike, he / she will heal remarkably quickly.

H E Y ...Doctor is correct, near is usually nothing to do. Where would you put any form of dressing? Due to the fact the child is so young at heart, he'll heal fast.....LATER
I have a lump on my principal?
I broke mine at 2. Doc told my mom the same entity. My arm was wrapped to my body at chest horizontal. Mine was never indistinguishable strengthwise. I'm 50 now. I'm surprised they haven't figure out a better way by immediately. Perhaps there is no better channel. It depends on the break, not every break requires a kind, and it is difficult to put a cast on the clavicle.
However, it doesn't hurt to take a second opinion.
I enjoy a friend who broke her collarbone when she was young-looking. It didn't heal right and in a minute she has like mad a muscle pain related to it.

Yes he is right .. the baby does not requirement a cast, even the elder ones do not call for a cast, once their collar bone is broken. This bone requests " figure of eight " heating pad in adolescents and elderly. Also triangular sling may be used.Have principle in your doc...he is right.
Is Sternoclavicular Joint displacement going to bring future issues??
Your Dr. is beyond doubt correct. As a teenager I broke both of mine on seperate occasion. Went to a Osteopath ( bone specialist ). He had me wear an arm sling for apx. 2 weeks, be healed contained by apx. 3 weeks. You 3 year old is producing modern body cells at a markedly fast rate, he will restore to health very swiftly.I have see this cast used on coller bones, but surplus.
Dr. can use a tube shaped gauze apx. 2-3 inch diameter and filled next to plaster. The tube is then flattened and placed at the back the neck, over the front of the shoulders, underneath the armpits, and then tied losing the back. Problem is, a 3 yer antiquated may not keep his shoulders stern in righteous posture while cast is setting/drying. Best bet here is move it alone, your munchkin will heal fine. Remember, GOT MILK!!
Home remedy for pinched impudence due to bulging disk.?
my brother broke a collarbone as a child and had no shape. you would need a sort almost on the WHOLE upper part of your body. he did own a "brace" thing he wore that kept his shoulders pulled hindmost and in proper alignment. near is really nothing else that can be done. if you are still concerned speak to an orthapedic for a second beliefWhat makes the impudence in your upper eyelid fly?
A cast is never applied for a broken collar bone. Sometimes a soft integer 8 splint is applied. More typically in small children it is not used. Some docs will put the child within an arm sling on the affected side for comfort individual. It will heal fine.
No, they don't issue a broken collarbone (clavicle). I have see many docs use this form of splint though to hang on to the bone aligned. It's like a figure-8 thingy that you put over both shoulders and it go around the back (kinda looks close to something to make you avoid slouching your shoulders). Of course, that adjectives depends on how bad the break is. Did your doc read out something about a "greenstick" fracture? If so, that money basically they only cracked it and it WILL heal on it's own. This is the nature of break most kids get, due to their super-soft bones. When within doubt, get a second inference!
-paramedic many years
Do do not need an actual issue for the collarbone itself. you amy need a numeral 8 thing or a sling to save the collarbone in place. If you're not satisfied with your current dr, move about to a different dr.
