What should I do?


I had volleyball tryouts for my highschool for 3 days and after the 2nd day my ankle started to really hurts. It seem worse today though. I probably shouldn't have gone to tryouts ending night but I did and it hurt rather during practice but not that much. Could I have sprained it and not know it untill I get home from practice on the 2nd day. The symptoms I'm experiencing are
slight swelling
tenderness
flush around and on the ankle
pain beside moving it
pain when I step or run on it
pain when I climb up or down the stairs
I didn't manufacture the team this year but It be my freshman tryouts so I have 3 more years to try to carry on the team. I'm also 14. What do you consider is wrong and what can I do for it. I have crutches at home if you presume that I should be using them.

REST: Rest and closing down of activity which aggravates the injury.

ICE: Apply Cold to stop affliction and restrict excess Fluid to the injury.

COMPRESSION: To further inhibit swelling caused by excess Fluid to the injury.

ELEVATION: To further inhibit swelling cause by excess Fluid to the injury.

Take an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen to help near the pain and swelling.

After following the above for 1-2 weeks and it fail to resolve itself, make an appointment beside an Orthopedic Doctor to have it checked out.

Sounds close to you could definitely hold a sprain. Try to keep pressure sour of it as much as possible, and use an ice pack or cooling agent to alleviate dull pain & swelling. For now, cart advil or motrin for the pain and try to receive in to your doctor. They'll know how to give you a clear diagnosis and will probably bequeath you a wrap for your ankle and tell you how long you should stay stale of it.
