Has anyone ever have septoplasty to cure snoring?

Did it work? Do you and did you smoke/drink? My boyfriend is due to have this done and someone told me today that they did and it hasn't made any difference- i don't want him to step through that if its not going to make any difference.

Well, The one and Only Libby, you have brought up another intensely interesting question. I hold a very similar situation. (Coincidentally, we are getting married on the 20th of this month) My fiancee' and I enjoy a beautiful son together. We met when he dropped by my store I have in Manhatten. We hit it sour instantly. I know it will sound corny, but we fell surrounded by love at first site. We DID carry out dating, living apart and living on cloud 9 for close to 3 years. He after moved into my apartment in America, but he flew back and forth to UK oodles, many times to fulfill obligation to his 2 sons from a previous marriage so he be not with me 24/7 similar to most couples do when they move in together. It be only after 3+ years that I become pregnant, and He still kept on going back and forth during the first 6 months of my pregnancy...but THEN..He "lived" next to me. He slept right beside me 7 nights ONLY AT THAT point in our relationship did I discover the serial-snorer in him. Needless to speak, at night, shortly after he stayed close to home adjectives the time he showed his "Shrek" side, so severe that it was close to he became posessed or something-lol (I telephone him "Buzzlightyear" actually).Anyway, he started snoring one night, and it woke up the neightbours subsequent door, who happened to be my folks next to his rummble. It came out of nowhere.-Never formerly had I EVER experienced such a horrific experience because of a creature snoring. It affected/affects me so much, that there be times that I'd be running on 3-5 days with literally no more than 2 hours respectively day. His own stereo-high fi sounding snoring wskes HIM up. To acquire skip ahead 7 yrs.: I am UNABLE to sleep in the bed beside him. I am unable to sleep within the 2nd floor bedroom that we have within our townhouse (he sleeps on 3rd floor master bedroom, en-suite, I swear,"all the snorers hold it made"!) and we've got neighbours on both sides. I hold my own study/office with a pull-out sofa bed, and I sleep contained by there. My son recurrently asks me to sleep with him, at smallest until he falls asleep, then he know I'll go to my organization. But, my sons room and he's got comfy bunk bed, is big, and I often rouse up,and it's 6 a.m., etc.
THIS is NO good!-We tried the strips on the muzzle, nasal sprays, homeopathic remedies, change of diet, full check up at GP which DID show lofty blood pressure and high cholesterol, but that have no effect on one's ability to snore or not. I asked his GP if he would please pass him a referral to a "ear, nose and throat" surgeon because of TWO reason, first is the obvious: The Chainsaw Snoring, and secondly, I know a bit in the order of sleep apnea, and I thought he definitely have that. That exam turned out to show that he doesn't have sleep apnea, have a deviated septum, and it was afterwards that I got a "fess-up" if you will (He told me of his years partying and the result is this) Besides my anyone surprised, not at what he did per se' because he is a totally different person completely than he be 34 years ago (he is 15 yrs my senior), but I was totally surprised he never told me of that little..um, shall we only say "skeleton within his old closet". Well, we are still together, our son is a total blessing and the greatest. We did everything completely backwards, (Live together, enjoy a child together) and NOW we are doing the marriage division. I have even convinced him to agree for us to move away from where on earth we are and move close to the seaside with better breathing nouns, and more importantly, no neighbours HERE that are so hostile because they hear his snoring also most times. We are keeping our house, letting it, and moving away. The tension surrounded by the air near our neighbours could be cut with a gouge, they are snobby people. My fiancee' even approached the man subsequent door one morning and told him, he is sorry he is snoring, and he is more sorry that the man's wife is constantly throwing things at the wall (on the 3rd floor). Bottom line, I love him. we hold a great family together, and in that is NOTHING ON THIS PLANET THAT CAN HELP OUR SITUATION. The surgery is not even an option for him due to previous medical condition. And I am even starting to run "scenarios" over and over in my pave the way very normally of the moment when it is my turn to say "I DO", I hope that I am rejuvenated, and not sleep deprived that day because I "JUST" may say-"I DON'T", because to me, marriage ceremony is for life. But 100% seriously, I will voice "I DO" regardless, and knowingly have the understanding that I am going to live next to his snoring "until death do us part"...hmmmmmm

I lately saw your post Earwigo, it printed right after mine showed up, WHAT (if you would be so kind as to share near us) is the name of this "Anti-Snore" spray that you articulate WORKS?-If I got it, and it worked, I'd pass you ALL my points, AND take my (future) mother contained by law!-Just kid.
