Why do you enjoy to swallow 2 painkillers?

For a headache, sore throat or whatever, I filch 2 aspirin/paracetomols and I suspect that most people do.
My give somebody the third degree is, why can't you buy the equivalent of both pills in 1 tablet (or conceivably you can)?

I can think of 1 or 2 possible reason, but I would be hypothesizing. Is there a definitive medical root?

Some tablets have high mg's, and some pain relievers ( ibuprofen, etc ) are sold at different level of strength yet you are right...

I'm guessing it's all marketing. The more commonly you take two pills at a time money you'll have to buy a exotic bottle of painkillers that much sooner.
