I have need of information on the healing process for knees (lateral meniscus) surgery?

I'm getting discouraged...I am in physical therapy but still tramp with a totter and feel tightness whenever I bend my knees. Can anyone help?

It really depends on your age, the degree of the gash and type of procedure you had. Most relatives experience a simple arthroscopic debridement. Physical therapy after this type of surgery usually last 4-8 weeks, but full recovery really take about 6 months...during the remainder of this time, you may experience occasional swelling and stomach-ache. There is also a certain percentage of populace who just simply do not respond ably to the surgery. Once that tear have been scoped, the mechanics of the knees are now changed...for something like 1/3 of patients, they simply do not respond well...especially those surrounded by their upper 40s to 60s...and often twirl up opting for a unicompartmental or total knees replacement somewhere down the line. However, back you file yourself into that category, I'd other wait a year earlier considering that.

If you, however, actually have a meniscus REPAIR, know that the healing from this is even longer.

Either style, it still sounds like you are surrounded by the stages of recovery...don't write yourself bad yet.

It can be discouraging..but don't u dare give up...it can clutch up to a year of therapy for your knees to be fully healed again.

yoga, pat, and accu-punture, or accu-pressure can do wonders for deep tissue repair. my father's have surgery on that same tendon subsequent week, so those were a few suggestions tossed to him by a friend who'd have the same entry done
