This is called Postural Hypo stiffness. Basically what happens is, when you are stood for a long time contained by one place, your breathing slows and so does your heart rate. You are not aware you are doing it. Eventually the heart rate slows to a speed where you would as a rule be asleep and lying down and so you faint.
