You shouldn't be squatting more than once a week especially if you are doing serious weight. I other wrapped up with anything over 300lbs which be usually my second set. It really depends on where within the knee you are opinion pain and if you dispatch me a message I may be able to diagnose this for a time more accuratly. If a D-1 athlete only does squats once a week afterwards there is no apology for anyone to do weighted squats more than that.
if it hurts while squatting, you may hold a torn miniscus. See if it hurts also going up and down stairs...the best therapy for this is Motrin and aquatics dream therapy for the leg and knee. Some inhabitants have have surgery but the most conservative approach usually works. Feel better!
