If you're working on a awfully low amount of sleep during the day/night does your metabolism slow down?

I only ask this cuz sometimes I'll achieve like 8 hours of sleep the hours of darkness before and consequently I'll go to work deferred at night (around 8 or 9 pm) and sometimes work until resembling 5 am in the morning. I drink lots of coffee to stay alert. I thought that coffee in reality speeds up your metabolism, but I'm more concerned with the examine. Thanks.
