Can running cross country and playing basketball at the same time increase my probability of getting shin splints?

I'm just style of curious. I've been doing my basketball training beside no problem then I started cross country near no problem. But just just now my legs have started to hurt. Could running cross country and doing basketball training increase my likelihood of shin splints?

Absolutely

can you steal lortab for pain and penicillin for infection together?

yes, but in that is a great chinese herbal remedy that works wonders. i've used it for martial arts and its the bomb.
its call dit da jow. give it a look on string. there are plenty to buy or if you live hard by a chinatown, easier to find or just product your own. i've made my own and it works really well.
it may be spelled a bit differently (dit da jow is a cantonese opening of saying). i wish i know about this stuff when i played football. here is also something called muscle linament (again chinese medicine). good book to read on this by Tom Bisio call A Tooth From the Tiger's Mouth.
Good luck.
Also this stuff is VERY cheap... 6 bucks for a bottle that will last a while. Again if you live in the neighbourhood a Chinatown go to a Chinese Pharmacy (one that sell herbs) and ask for dit da jow. They have be using this stuff for thousands of years.

Getting rid of food poisoning?

Yes but don't let that stop you. At the first sign of any "injury" niggle, you should immediately rest and help yourself to care of it even if it channel taking some time off. Continuing to run and skip and playing through pain while injured can one and only make it worse and missing a daylight is better than missing a month. Yes, the Chinese thing might work, but honourable old rest, rime, compression, elevation works and is an ancient tried and true tradition that's very cheap. At most minuscule that's what my coach had me do put money on in the light of day.
