Best remedy for prickly canker/cold sores?

i have a outstandingly painful canker sore right inside my upper lip, my lip is swollen & it hurts to even collaborate. i am getting a cold, so this always happen when i get sick. i am rinsing beside salt river, but does anyone else have alternate ways to alleviate the misery? i dont want to buy those OTC remedies, they are awful expensive & i doubt they work.

It occur to me that many will enlighten you to put ice. A little bit is OK. But if you over do it it can in fact burn your lip and slow the healing. Also carmex can be soothing and numbing, but I enjoy found it only really help the healing once it have scabbed over, but my dad swears by it. but like I said intake certain things will bring in it flare up and hurt so much worse.

Many people appointment canker sores cold sores and vise versa. (you even said it was a cold sore, but some don't read highly cafefully before answering.)
Many spread them by making this not conversant mistake. The fact that you draw from them when you are getting sick is an indicator that it is indeed viral and therefore a cold sore.
