What prognosis can we expect for a head injury merciful?

A few days ago my brother, a long distance truck driver, had a heart attack while driving and run the truck off the road, where on earth it rolled several times. He survived the accident (he be wearing a seat belt), but suffered a chief injury. He was rate as extremely critical upon arrival at the hospital and stopped breathing a couple of times. His coma was rate very low, essential death. However, four days after that, he's still considered comatose, but he's able to follow some directions and can speak some. Today he be able focus his eyes on someone and answer some simple question. Does anyone have any experience next to head injury patients and can notify us what to expect as to his chances of rescue or how much he can recover?

not a soul can predict what the damage is, they can enlighten you the severity but not what is affected and how scantily. this will be a slow process, take it smooth with him and don't push, consent to him recover surrounded by his own time. there are things you can do to 'stimulate' his mind though, photos, objects from home he holds dear, recordings from nearest and dearest and friends. i was surrounded by a care luck years ago and went through the windshield and suffered a subdural hematoma, essentially bleeding inside the skull...it caused some injury, mostly speech and recall issues. i hold had three concussions over my lifetime including this one and mostly i only just struggle with getting words out, not stuttering because i know what i want to say aloud but there's just a break down surrounded by the connection from brain to verbalization. that leading head trauma be 30 yrs ago. i had an uncle who died a few years ago of crude causes but he be in wwII and be the only survivor of 10 a plane crash, he be in a coma for 8 years and in the future he just woke up and spoke his wife's moniker (although she had divorced him 5 yrs nearer because the doc's said he would always be a vegetable and here were no detectable brain waves) anyway, he purely woke up and within a few weeks beside rehab mainly for his limb from lack of use he be out of the va hospital and home talking and walking as commonplace . he did lose the majority of his eyesight and he had what they telephone a permanent shunt inserted into his skull (its necessarily a tube that drains the fluid buildup - i guess its to do with the type injury he had) save for that he was totally able and lived ably into his 80's when he died of natural cause. so who knows what will evolve for your brother, he has sustained two foremost traumas but a lot depends on his combat spirit too. i would just fire up you and your family to love him and save talking to him give or take a few everything, childhood and family memories, own flesh and blood happenings, holidays...really anything that could trigger a positive response. reading his favorite books to him whether he seems to respond or not is apposite too. i remember after my concussion that i could hear all that be going on around me but i could not respond so i think low down he will hear you. good luck.

Broken Toe?

I don't know what to make clear to you but you all will be contained by my prayers. My younger brother was contained by and ATV wreck on Aug. 30, 2006 he also stoped breathing, had bleeding of the brain and several other problems. he have emergancy brainsurgery and now he is without a flaw fine every now and after he has a minor brain fart but he have fully recovered by the grace of god. I know that your road a head will be concrete and you wil think that you cant be in motion on but you will judt keep trying and hoping, never ever contribute up on him and hopefully everything will work out. i feel so sorry for you adjectives because I know what you are going through.
