Im startled of an IV HELP ME PLZ!?

i really dont mind needles but i am scared cuz i hear its long and they put it right below the rist and i feel that it would be really humiliated with a nozzle there where on earth its really sensitive PLZ HELP

Help..this may sound crazy but.?

I be terrified the first time I have to have an IV put within my arm (it was for medication to tranquil me down and put me to sleep during an endoscopy on my stomach), but it takes a minute at the most and it doesn't hurt that much...I don`t know like getting your arm pinched. It's not unpromising. I've had to enjoy IVs two other times when I've had to dance to the ER due to food allergy reactions (so they could run saline and Benadryl in me) and those hurt even smaller number! It seems approaching it would be scary to move or bend your arm at first, but it doesn't hurt, and after a couple minutes, you forget it's even within. Having the IV removed doesn't hurt either. The nurse putting the IV in will usually agree to you to try and distract you...just reach a deal to him/her and keep your go before turned away from the arm the IV is going into and it won't be bad at adjectives. That's usually where I find an IV, and I'm absolutely fearful of needles. I was surprised, because it doesn't hurt at adjectives. I know it sounds old, but simply look away. You can hardly grain it, trust me :]

I've never heard of them putting it in your wrist, but they don't other do it on your hand. They own always put it right within the center of my arm. It's not long and usually the tubes are plastic and they hurt a lot smaller quantity than needles. There is absolutely nought to be afraid of. You can actually bend your arms beside the new IVs (as I said past, they are usually plastic, bendable tubes.) Trust me, I've had tons IVs in the recent past two years.

Are doctors suppose to turn you away once they find out you have no robustness insurance?

there is no defence to be so alarmed. the needles they use to put in an iv are so sharp you just about notice anything more than a slight pick . they dont set out the needle contained by your arm. a small tube is inserted through the needle , the nozzle removed and taped . you are afraid because you enjoy never had this done previously but i can assure you i have have it done many times and the society that do this are very pious at it . try not to worry, you enjoy probably hurt yourself more from cuts and scrapes.

they can numb the skin for you if they will.some hurt some dont.

Don't be afraid. I have have them many times. Since you are not afraid of needles...it should be vastly easy for you. It is only just a faster way to seize meds into your system. Mine don't hurt, they just net me feel much better. In reality, it is such an easy article to do, that I had my fully developed son home with me while he be needing meds through an I.V. for something like a month. I took care of the I.V., myself.

They usually put it on the top of your appendage or in your arm (where they draw blood). It's really not discouraging. They use a needle to put contained by the tube, but the tube is really small. You don't feel that. It's not as uncomfortable as getting liquid injected. On the chronicle of being poked by things, this is at the bottom for sure. Just look the other opening (so you don't get freaked out by seeing it) and try to relax your muscles. I sing the ABCs (in my principal now because I'm too old-fashioned to be singing out loud) so I'm concentrating on something else. I have never hear of them putting it in your wrist. Ever. So don't worry going on for that part.

an iv can be done anywhere within the lower part of the arm. The iv plunger is not long either.
