Are you sure it is solely a sprain? If so then it really can clutch months for the swelling to completely go away although this is not usually a problem.
After 4 weeks you should be walking logically comfortably on your ankle and with simply mild discomfort (at night particularly).
You can mitigate this by elevating your leg when you can but I would suggest seeing a strength professional if you have distress / swelling in another week

I agree with Tat pen. He is the closest to person correct on this, walk as as a rule as you are able to as strain allows, as pain decrease increase the stress through your ankle as you feel competent to i.e. straight line running on an even surface.

Put your ankle through it's full stock of motion, push forwards, pull backwards, turn contained by and turn out as much as your pain allos and increase as you are competent to.
Elevate when at rest if able.
