Hurts to Swallow - wisdom teeth just this minute removed?
I recently have my bottom two wisdom teeth removed. Now, I find it extremely difficult to swallow anything (even saliva.) Every time I swallow, it feel like I'm swallowing a huge rock or pebble. My dentist told me that I could solely eat cold and soft foods. Yet, I am not sufficiently expert to eat anything due to the dull pain from swallowing. In addition, I be not allowed to gargle anything for it might be bad for you to my stitches. However, my wisdom teeth nouns has not stopped bleeding since the operation. Not even an rime pack will stop it. What should I do to stop the pain of swallowing?
Answer:
Call your dentist and relate him all of this. It sounds to me close to you may have an infection near swelling into your throat (the rock that you feel when you swallow), or you are bleeding into the tissue around the socket, cause swelling. Take a piece of guaze, or a clean washcloth, and bite on it for 5 to 10 minutes, putting pressure on the wound(s) that are bleeding. Applying direct pressure should back slow the bleeding, if it does not, call the dentist straight away for an emergency appointment, or go to the ER. Many things can affect your repossession from this type of operation. Smoking can give you dry socket, a bloody condition in and of itself. If you are taking Aspirin or any of its close relatives for the affliction, it can cause prolonged bleeding, because Aspirin will "thin" the blood. If at hand is infection present, healing is prolonged. Infection can be localized within the area of the operation, but can spread into the blood stream, cause septicemia, which is very serious. If in attendance is a bleeding blood vessel from the surgery, and it has not stopped in a reasonable amount of time, it can front to low blood counts and shock, if left untreated. Call the dentist and make clear to them what you are experiencing. Make an appointment to be checked. This is your health that we are chitchat about, and sometimes you must be your own advertiser. Hope this helps.
